The Background Of Daraglathia



Daraglathia is a huge world, with lots of different realms and possibilities.

One of these is Gilthrain Forest, a beautiful place, full of wonderful creatures and plantlife.

Another is Balthorng; An evil place, full of twisted creaures and evil doings, it is also the home of Narothod Goulfond.



Good Races



Elves: Like men, but pointy-eared, and with much sharper senses. They move very quickly, are expert archers, as well as swordsmen/women, and learn to use other weapons quickly. Are very intelligent, and know much ancient lore, and the language of power. Are good healers.

Men: Like you and me, but with benefits. They can fight really well with almost any weapon. They can be rangers, warriors, or anything they choose to be. A peace loving people, but will go to war if needed. Some are healers talented in herb lore.

Centaurs: Half man/Half horse. These woodland creatures are expert archers and also have knowledge of the local herbs.

Good Mages: Much like wizards really, but always are good. They fight with staffs and their magic. Their magic depends totally on the god/goddess they choose to follow. some are healers as well. Very well versed in ancient lore, and many languages

Guardian: Man/woman that has special powers that go along with whichever mystical animal they can morph into. They are appointed to protect certain people, and do so with a fierce passion.They can use whatever weapons they like.

The Great Council: Made up of many old, and wise, people, and is headed by Esiw Enderlain. The council has many representatives from the good races, and occasionally some from the neutral races. They know almost all that goes on in Daraglathia, but choose to only fight in certain situations. Their main job is to keep an eye on Northod Goulfond, and nudge the good, and sometimes the neutral, races in the right direction toward his defeat. He is a rising threat, but will be taken care of...


Neutral Races



Merfolk: They live in all kinds of bodies of water, and their looks vary with water type and area. They are a solitary peaceful folk, not interested in war. However this whole world is going to be pulled into the war against Northod. It will be up to the merfolk as individuals to decide when the time comes. They are a very strong race of peoples in general. They manipulate water, and fight with tridents.

Nymphs: Nymphs are an elusive peaceful people. There are many different kinds, depending on the terrain they choose to live in. Are lightning-fast, have good magical skills and have the ability to manipulate certain things in their home environment.

Pixies: Pixies are a helpful sort of race, that are peace-loving and wish to have as much fun as possible. Unlike fairies and imps, they do not have wings, but can still fly. They have a powerful magic all thier own, and if you come up against one in battle, you are not likely to come out the same. They are a good race to make friends with, but will under no circumstances like evil races. Cannot be enchanted by outside magic.

Fairies: Are more elusive than pixies. They are also helpful to those whom are lucky enough for them to take a liking to. They also have a powerful brand of magic, that can change you forever if you battle with them. They make wonderfully loyal friends, and like pixies will never befirend those of dark souls. Thay ccannot be enchanted by outside magic either.

Imps: Winged kittens/cats, that can change into winged humanoid form. They are extremely intelligent, and very helpful in a clinch. Also have a powerful brand of magic all their own, and cannot be enchanted by outside magic. Fiercely loyal to those who they like. A very poetic race. Will never befriend one who harbours the darkness, and have a fierce dislike for Eropicons.



Evil Races



Eropicons: Eropicons are scorpion-like in appearance, with one exception. They grow to be the size of golden retrievers. They can speak in the common tounge, but generally use their own hissing language. Are sneaky, and attack with their stingers, and pincers. A rather stupid race that has to follow a leader of some sort. They were already evil, but now are moreso since they have been brought into Northod Goulfond's peoples

Dark Nymphs: Originated as normal nymps moved to Balthorng. There is where all evil things go, for it is the chosen place of the God of Chaos and the Goddess of Death. The dark nymps worshipped one or the other, or both, and were so twisted into evil beings. They are fiercely loyal to their god/goddess, and to Northod.

Dark Mages: Worship either Chaos or Death, or both as well. They have dark magic, that is sometimes very powerful. They enjoy hurting good, and neutral races and are experts in the arts of dark torture. They choose to ally with Northod in hopes of gaining power, and maybe defeating the great council someday.

Shadow-Kheel: They take over the minds of weak creatures already seeded with evil, and make them stronger. They also float around in their own shadow form. They cause an almost irrational fear in most beings. They enjoy torturing and hurting things, and worship only Death. They allied with Northod with the same hopes as the dark mages.

Water Goddess: Hydrate



Fire Goddess: Pyra



Eath God: Contar



Air God: Syral

Three new deities!

Light goddess: Maia

Shadow god: Ainvarix

Keeper of souls: Cisum, this entity has no gender. It simply cares for the souls of those that have passed, and carries them to their appropriate places. There is the paradise land Lanrete, and the place of eternal damnation for evil souls, Erutrot. She will not allow those whose time has not yet come to pass into either. They may be revived, or they may wander Daraglathia as spirits until destiny is fulfilled.

New races!

Evil: Gulrucks, like a mixture of moles, pirannahs, and spiders. These twisted critters may be the distant stronger cousins of the Eropicons. They live in holes in the ground, and are somewhat more intelligent than Eropicons, but they still need leaders to put them on task. They worship Chaos alone, and revel in spilling blood. They have spider-like eight-legged bodies, that have a humanoid torso, with large black eyes, and mole-like skin, as well as a mouth FULL of hundreds of sharp teeth that are poisonous. These little buggers are not fun, but can not see well at all in anything but darkness.

Neutral: Dryads, tree dwelling spirits able to take human form when coerced from their tree hidings.
they have small buds on either shoulder which become wings when they are old enough, although they can choose to remain earthbound and many do because when flying they make easy prey. (Information on dryads courtesy fo WhisperRedfox.)

Good: Dwarves, stouter than normal men, they spend most of their lives mining in the mountains, and making excellently crafted treasures. Their armour is amazing, and they are known for their magical rings, and other fascinating treasures. They prefer to fight with axes and warhammers. Formidable opponents in melee, or siege. But they can't run for very long distances, they're sprinters. You'd have to be truly talented to coax one onto a horse, too.
